Who doesn’t love a good party? We love gathering with our friends and spending quality time with each other (preferably over a charcuterie board). But I think we can all agree that planning a party is never on a person’s favorite things to do list. Does the idea of planning a party or gathering stress you out to no end? Well then we have the answer for you, have a spontaneous or impromptu party.
Planning a party does not have to be stressful, follow these quick tips and enjoy the process!
1. Free up your calendar
Do you ever have that daunting feeling on a Thursday afternoon when you realize you have no plans for the upcoming weekend? Trust me, we all do, but fight the urge to give in to the need to plan. You cannot have a stress-free impromptu party if you start planning it three days prior. Keep your calendar open for whatever may come so you have plenty of time to be spontaneous and flexible.
2. See what’s going on
Keep it casual. See what your friends are up to and if anyone is down to hang out. I promise you there will be at least a few people with no plans looking for something exciting to do. What better than spending a night with close friends?
3. Stick to the basics
What makes every party the best party? Three words: wine and cheese. Make sure to always have a red, a white, and a rosé on hand for any last minute get-togethers. For the cheeses, stick with a variety. Buy a few different kinds that you love and can eat whenever. It is always a good rule of thumb to have a constant supply of crackers to go along with your cheese spread also. Don’t have everything you need? No problem! Ask one of your friends to pick it up on the way, easy breezy.
You cannot just have wine and cheese though, you need a killer set of glasses and a unique cheeseboard to add an extra pop to the fiesta. We are in love with these staple items, check them out now so you can be prepared for your next impromptu get-together.

4. Simplify dinner
Dinner can be the scariest part of having a party. How much should you make? What should you make? Is that fancy enough? Do not worry about any of those questions. Do not test yourself or feel the need to cook something amazing that you would find in a 5 star restaurant. Cook something you love and feel confident about, even if it is just pasta with sauce from a jar. Better yet, wait until your friends arrive and cook something all together. That way you have a fun bonding activity and the pressure can be taken off of you. Still nervous about cooking? Don’t fret, just order take-out and enjoy the company.
5. Disaster free zone
All in all, having a party should not be stressful. Focus on the company and quality time you have and the rest will fall into place. Nothing can be a disaster if you are flexible and just have a good time.
